Catalyst® 6500 Operations and Maintenance - Layer 2 (6500-CatOS)
Length: 3-day Workshop
This course is custom-designed to provide students with a fundamental understanding of the Cisco® 6500 Switch with CAT-OS and Operations for Layer 2 switching.
The course is designed to take students through a thorough understanding of VLAN fundamentals and 6500 Architecture. Students will learn of Cisco® CAT-OS switch commands and be able to demonstrate their knowledge through labs that utilize Cisco Systems® CAT-OS switches.
Students will learn how to support the 6500 Hardware and Software components. In addition, Wireless Maintenance and Operation commands will be utilized to install, configure and troubleshoot lab equipment.
Cisco Catalyst® 6500 Series Switches, including a detailed overview of many of the modules and components available. Features and technologies addressed include gigabit scalability, high availability, and Layer 2, Layer 3, and management improvements over previous Catalyst® operating system software.
Students will learn how to navigate, manage and operate the CAT-OS CLI.
Students will use 6500 switches in the classroom connected to remote labs via the Internet.
