Network Fundamentals & Layer 2 Switching Fundamentals (Net Fund)

Length: 4-day Workshop

This course is designed to provide students with a fundamental understanding of TCP/IP Network Fundamentals and Layer 2 Switching.

The course is designed to take students through a thorough understanding of the OSI model, TCP/IP, and Layer 2 switching technologies such as Spanning Tree, VLANs etc.. Students will learn of TCP/IP protocol fundamentals and be able to demonstrate their knowledge through labs that utilize Cisco Systems® routers and switches.

Students will learn of TCP/IP addressing, IP subnetting, MAC layer addresses, TCP/IP Network Infrastructures. In addition Network Layer concepts including Basic Routing Fundamentals and a Module introducing the Configuration and Operation of Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) will be covered.

Students will learn how to navigate, manage and operate the command line interface (CLI) of Cisco® Routers and Switches through the use of Cisco IOS® 12.X operating system.
