Cisco® IP Transfer Point Course (ITP)
Length: 4-day Workshop
The Cisco® IP Transfer Point (ITP) is a family of integrated traditional and IP-based Signaling System 7 (SS7) signaling solutions for service providers. In this four-day course you will be taught the primary skills required to deploy, maintain, troubleshoot, and manage the Cisco® ITP.
Each lecture session is followed by related lab work to reinforce the information taught. By the end of the week the attendees will have built an actual ITP network and sent generated traffic across that network.
You will learn to:
- Describe the ITP product and its features and deployment
- Describe the current SS7 architecture, operations, and protocols
- Describe the SS7 over IP architecture, operations, and protocols
- Describe and configure ITP features such as global title translation, multi-instances, gateway screening, and multilayer routing
- Design an ITP network
- List the commands to maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot the ITP

Prerequisites:
Prior to attending the course, students should have working knowledge of:
- Introduction to telecommunications
- Basic telephony signaling
- TCP/IP and IP routing
