This lab-intensive course introduces you to the Cisco® Unified Application Environment and its features. You will learn the important theoretical concepts that the Cisco Unified Application Environment is based on and gain the practical knowledge and skills to successfully use it to develop applications in your environment. In six hands-on labs, you will learn to build simple applications using out-of-the-box features of the Cisco Unified Application Environment as well as develop more complex custom plug-ins.

You will learn to:

Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:

  • Build applications using the Cisco Unified Application Designer
  • Deploy applications to the Cisco Unified Application Environment
  • Run applications on the Cisco Unified Application Environment triggered by calls from the IP phone
  • Run applications on the Cisco Unified Application Environment triggered by making an HTTP request
  • Create, deploy, and utilize custom actions
  • Create, deploy, and utilize custom providers, including provider events and provider actions

Recommended for:

This course is intended for application developers with a basic understanding of Cisco IP Telephony, primarily Cisco Unified CallManager.

Prerequisites:

Participants are required to bring their own laptops and Ethernet cable, with the following software
applications preloaded:

  • Visual Studio .NET 2005 (Express C#)
  • NET SDK 2.0

 

The following are the knowledge prerequisites for this course:

  • Knowledge of Cisco Unified CallManager operation, configuration, and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of Microsoft VS.NET fundamentals
  • Working knowledge of C# and .NET or any other object-oriented programming language
