TECH 2000 PREPARING BELL ATLANTIC TECHNICIANS FOR IMMINENT ADSL SERVICE DEPLOYMENT IN NORTHEAST
TECH 2000 CONTINUES TO LEAD IN CARRIER WORKFORCE TRAINING FOR STATE-OF-THE-ART TELECOM TECHNOLOGIES
Herndon, VA, August 19, 1998 - Tech 2000 is preparing the courseware and training for Bell Atlantic technical personnel for the regional company's planned September rollout of Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) service. ADSL is a technology that allows high bandwidth data services between end users and their Internet service providers. today s telecom industry.
Tech 2000 has designed Bell Atlantic's ADSL curriculum and will develop many of the individual courses for the end-to-end architecture, including Cisco's gateway router, Ascend's Cascade ATM switch, and DSC's LiteSpan® systems. Courses are being created for the technicians and systems engineers responsible for delivering ADSL service at Bell Atlantic Broadband Service Center, Data Services Center, and central offices. The courses will cover operations, troubleshooting, and telephone cable loop configuration and testing. The total worth of the contract, not yet finalized, could approach the low six figures.

Tech 2000 has trained U S WEST's technicians and sales force for that regional carrier's 14-state ADSL deployment. The Herndon, Virginia-based firm is contracted to provide comprehensive training services in Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) technology to Bell Atlantic regional operating center provisioning teams. Tech 2000 also designed a telecommunications technology curriculum and currently provides training to systems engineers of Bell Atlantic Federal, the Bell Atlantic organization that serves federal government customers. Previously, Tech 2000 provided training for Bell Atlantic's ATM deployment for the State of West Virginia.
