TECH 2000 SELECTED BY US WEST TO PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT SERVICES FOR NATION'S FIRST BROADLY AVAILABLE ADSL DEPLOYMENT
Herndon, VA, May 14, 1998 - Tech 2000 has been awarded the contract to train U S WEST Communication's technical and sales workforce for the company's first-in-the-nation Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) deployment. Tech 2000's educational services will support U S WEST's plans to bring MegaBit Services ADSL to more than 40 cities across its 14-state region. Tech 2000's mission is to establish proficiency among U S WEST's workers in delivering high bandwidth data services over the "last mile" between the end user and the Internet Service Provider (ISP).
Tech 2000 is utilizing an educational methodology that specifically targeted to meet U S WEST's strategic goals. From these goals, Tech 2000 derived technical skill and knowledge requirements, and then assessed employees' knowledge levels so the appropriate educational courseware could be developed.
Tech 2000 President George Churchwell said, "Our strategy has always been to address an organization's underlying business need. Among Tech 2000's other projects are providing comprehensive training services in Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) technology to Bell Atlantic regional operating center provisioning teams. Tech 2000 also designed a telecommunications technology curriculum and currently provides training to systems engineers of Bell Atlantic Federal. Previously, the Dulles Corridor telecommunications technology firm was the strategic training partner for Bell Atlantic's ATM deployments for the State of West Virginia and the Commonwealth of Virginia.
